10 celebrities who used to be strippers

You might recognize them from the big screen or because of their successful music careers, but these celebrities while waiting for their big break were stripper for a weekend, a few months, or several years.

1. Cardi B

Prior to her success, the “Bodak Yellow” rapper pursued a career as a stripper at age 18.

Cardi B started stripping as a young adult and did it for three and a half years.

she explained during an interview that the job helped to pay her bills, afford an apartment, and invest in her goal of becoming an artist.

2. Blac Chyna

Blac Chyna was a stripper at Miami’s famous King of Diamonds gentlemen’s club, and said during a Facebook Live in August 2016 that if she hadn’t got famous, she’d probably still be a stripper.

Blac Chyna was a stripper in an effort to save up for college, but realized that she couldn’t dedicate enough time to her job and her classes.

3. Amber rose

Amber rose began a career in stripping when she was just 15 to help provide for her family after her parents divorced.

Amber opened up about her stripper past during an interview with the Cosmopolitan US in 2015, revealing she did it from age 18 through to 25.

“When I was stripping it was the best time of my life,” she told listeners of her online radio show Loveline in 2016. 

4. Lady Gaga

Gaga attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, but dropped out and moved out of her parents’ house. To support herself, she worked as a waitress during the day and a stripper at night. 

The “Bad Romance” singer got her start as a stripper in her hometown of New York City.

“I made more money stripping than waitressing,” she explained during an interview with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live.

5. Chris pratt

In an interview with Buzzfeed in 2015, the actor opened up about his not-so-successful, almost stripper past.

He explained that as much as he likes being naked, he isn’t sure he was very good at the dancing part.

“I was always a very much naked person. I loved to always get naked,” he said at the time.

6. Brad Pitt

Brad was part of a group called the ‘Dancing Bares’ during his uni days, and his former ‘frat brothers.

Pitt and his group specialized in performing for female students on their birthdays.

He also revealed that he also used to drive strippers to and from gigs. “Strippers changed my life,” he added. 

7. Azealia banks

Aged 20, Azealia worked in the gift shop of a jazz club and danced in a strip club to make ends meet.

“I worked at this little strip club and it was a low point, but I wanted some fast money,” she told the outlet.

“I was such a chicken in the strip club. It was not my thing at all. I was there for just two weekends, and then I quit because ‘212’ blew up.”

8. Courtney Love

Prior to singing, acting, and marrying Kurt Cobain in the ’90s, Love was an exotic dancer at places like Jumbo’s Clown Room and Seventh Veil. 

With the money she earned from working, Love was able to kick-start her band, Hole. 

9. Javier bardem

Bardem admitted in an interview in 2011,he tried his hand at stripping when his family were in the audience.

According to Bardem, it initially started off as a joke. But then he got hired to perform again — and his family members were in the audience to offer support.

According to Kelly Ripa, Consuelos’ wife the actor was a stripper before landing roles on shows and movies. 

She added that after he received his degree from the University of South Florida, he got the gig.
