Omanyala the gold winner in the African championship after 32 years and his other notable wins

Kenya’s popular sprinter Ferdinsnd Omanyala Omurwa has placed Kenya on the world map because of his impressive performance on the track through the 100m and 200m races.

Omanyala was born on January 2, 1996. Accused of a doping offense in 2017 that led to a 14-month suspension from athletics after testing for an illegal substance.  Omanyala kept his hopes high until the suspension was over.

Though still, very young Omanyala has many achievements to his name he is currently the African holder and the 8th fastest man of all time after setting a record of 9.77 in September 2021 in Nairobi.

Here are the top wins that have made Omanyala the best sprinter of all time.

1.African championship

Ferdinand Omanyala won the 100m gold medal at the African Championship in 9.93 seconds, yesterday June 9 beating defending champion Akani Simbine from South Africa.

It’s the first time a Kenyan has won the gold medal in 32 years.

2.Omanyala beat USAs Fred Kerley and Isaiah Young

Ferdinand Omanyala proved to the world who’s the goat. He won the 100M in 9.85 ahead of USA’s Fred Kerley and Isaih Young. That record made him clock the fastest time in the world this year.

3.Kipchoge Keino world continental tour Men’s 100M

Ferdinand Omanyala clocked 9.76s to break Kenya’s 100m National record for the 5th time.

Though he finished second to American Trayvon Bromwel who clocked 9.75s.

4.Belgrade indoor championships

Ferdinand Omanyala finished first in heat 2 of the 60M dash at the Belgrade indoor championships after clocking 6.62.

5.Metz

Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala broke the national 60M record yesterday in Metz to set a new record of 6.60. He just can’t stop winning.

6.Country races in Austria

In this race, Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala did better than his previous time of 9.96 in the finals by clocking 9.86. This made him finish first in the Country races in Austria.

This race was an indicator that Mr. Ferdinand is destined for greatness.

7.Grand Prix breaking a 27-year-old record

Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala wins the Lahti moto net grand Prix, setting a new record of 10.09. Omurwa in the process broke a 27-year-old record.

8.White city

Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala won at the white city games.

He clocked 10.06 and broke a record that had existed for 35 years!

9.WorldIndoorTour

Ferdinand Omurwa Omanyala broke the national 60M record in the #WorldIndoorTour, a record that stood since 2005. He broke the record by clocking 9.77 making him the first African to break the record since 2005.
