Harry Kane fails to turn up to Tottenham training amid Man City transfer saga

Published

Harry Kane has reportedly failed to show up to Tottenham training as planned after returning from holiday as speculation continues to mount over a potential summer transfer.

But whilst other players such as Giovani Lo Celso and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg returned, Kane failed to report back to his club as planned.

Kane was given extra time off after his exploits at Euro 2020 as England reached the final and were beaten by Italy on penalties.

But new Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo now faces a huge issue regarding his star striker who appears increasingly intent on forcing an exit.

Speaking at his first press conference as Spurs head coach, when asked if he expects to have Kane at the club for the beginning of the season, Nuno responded: “I have no doubts in my mind. What I wish is for Harry to recover well and have a good rest.

“When he arrives he will feel that he has to commit himself to become better. We are ambitious, we want to do well and we count on Harry to do that.

“Harry is our player, period. There is no need to talk about anything else. Now is the time for him to rest. When he returns we can have a good conversation. I am looking forward to him joining the group.”

Asked about his future during Euro 2020, Kane remained tight-lipped.

“It’s been ok. I’m sure I’ll get asked about it a lot but my most important thing is trying to win a major tournament with England,” he told the BBC.

Barcelona set 2week deadline for $131m star to decide future amid Manchester United, Liverpool links

Dembele, who just has six months left on his current deal with Barcelona, has not signed an extension yet and will be free to negotiate with other clubs from January.

It is reported that Dembele’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, has been purposely delaying contract talks by asking for clarification about Dembele’s role at the club.

The Catalans suspect the former is looking to offer his client to the highest bidder.

However, Dembele has since struggled to live up to the price tag, mostly because of his injuries that have ruined his journey so far at Camp Nou.

Dembele, who came off the bench in Barcelona’s previous two fixtures, has so far played only three competitive matches for Barcelona this season and is yet to go on the scoring sheet.

Dembele is still just 24 and former Al-Sadd boss Xavi believes the player is still capable of big things and wants to help him rediscover his form.

The France national moved from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona at $131 million ahead of the 2017-18 season.
