List of winners for the 2021 MTV EMA Awards

The gala for the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards [MTV EMAs]went down on Sunday at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna in Budapest, Hungary, with heavyweights in the music industry battling out for the coveted awards.

 Best African Act was crowned to Nigerian Star Wizkid beating East Africa’s only representative Diamond Platnumz, South Africa’s Focalistic, Tems (Nigeria) and Ghana’s Amaarae.

Korean pop sensation BTS and British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran were the big winners at the prestigious awards.

BTS Dominates the Night

BTS won the most awards, including Best Pop, Best Group, Best K-Pop, and Biggest Fans, while Sheeran won Best Artist and Best Song for “Bad Habits.”

Host and performer Saweetie won Best Newcomer. Female rapper Nicki Minaj won Best Hip-Hop, Olivia Rodrigo Best Push, Maluma Best Latin, and Yungblud the award for Best Alternative.

The Best Collaboration award went to Doja Cat ft. SZA for “Kiss Me More,” while David Guetta won Best Electronic and Billie Eilish was honored with the Video for Good award.

WCB signee and Next Level CEO Rayvanny made history becoming the first African act to ever perform at the MTV EMAs main event.

Some stars like to keep their children out of the spotlight, and opt not to release the child’s name or photos of their beautiful celebrity babies.

1. Rihanna and Asap Rocky

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky welcomed their baby boy on May 13, 2022, according to report from TMZ. They have not yet shared the child’s name.

 The pair revealed they were expecting with a photo shoot in January 2022.

Rihanna showed off her maternity style throughout her pregnancy. Though rumors of their relationship had swirled for years

Rocky first confirmed the relationship, and how serious it was, in an interview with GQ in May 2021.

2. Kylie Jenner And Travis Scott’s Son

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott welcomed a baby boy on Feb. 2, one day after daughter Stormi’s 4th birthday.

Jenner announced her son’s arrival on Instagram on Feb. 6, captioning a black-and-white photo of Scott holding the newborn’s hand.

They have not shared any other details, though a rep did confirm to People that they had welcomed a boy.

3. Post Malone

Post Malone announced on “The Howard Stern Show” on June 13 that he welcomed a baby girl. He also revealed that he got engaged to his longtime partner.

“[At] 2:30 in the afternoon, I went and I kissed my baby girl,” Post said, and when asked if he meant his girlfriend or daughter, he added, “No, that’s my daughter.”

The private star who has kept mum since moving from Los Angeles to Utah in 2019 – revealed he was expecting his first child in May 2022.

 “I’m excited for this next chapter in my life. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, and for since I could remember I was sad.”Told TMZ

4. Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn

Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn revealed in March that they secretly welcomed a second daughter.

“Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl. We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x,” Sheeran wrote, alongside a photo of baby socks. 

The couple, who got married in 2019, welcomed their first child, daughter Lyra Antarctica, in August 2020.

5. Chris Brown and Diamond Brown

Chris Brown confirmed that he welcomed a daughter, Lovely Brown, in January 2022 with a post commemorating his baby girl turning three months old.

Though this is the first public mention Chris has made of his new daughter, Diamond has been posting since she welcomed her little bundle of joy.

On January 8, she shared an image of the newborn to Instagram, writing, “The princess is here! Lovely Symphani Brown.

My sweet babygirl, it’s been a whole day you’ve been in the world and have already shown me the true meaning of life. I promise to love and protect you always. Forever yours, mommy..”

The singer shares Lovely with Diamond Brown. He also has two other children: 7-year-old daughter Royalty, whom he shares with Nia Guzman, and 2-year-old son Aeko Catori, whom he welcomed with Ammika Harris. 

6. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez

Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez gave birth to twins in April 2022, but only one of the babies survived.

Fred Willard[Modern Family]

Willard died at his home in Los Angeles, aged 86 years, on May 15, 2020. This was from reports from his daughter and representative.

The Tv character’s cause of death was cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease. He also had myelodysplastic syndrome, which contributed to the cardiac arrest. His death was announced by Jamie Lee Curtis, whose husband, Christopher Guest worked with Willard.

Fred Willard, who played Frank Dunphy, died on the show from old age. His onscreen son Phil Dunphy [TY Burrell] is eulogized in the presence of his cast mates.

Helen McCrory[Peaky Blinders ]

McCrory died aged 52 from breast cancer on April 16, 2021, at her home in London. Her husband, Damian Lewis, announced her death on Twitter.

Lewis stated that Helen died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.

Her death as Aunty Polly on the Peaky Blinders is revealed in the season 6 premiere, where she is killed by the Irish republican during the attempted assassination of Oswald Mosley.

She was playing Princess Leia in Star wars when she died. In her Star Wars death scene, Leia sensed the duel between Rey and Kylo Ren on Kef Bir.

Carrie used the Force to reach out to her son across the galaxy and call him by his birth name –Ben. This last act drained Leia [ Carrie] of her remaining energy and killed her.

Edward Herrmann[Gilmore Girls]

Herrmann died at 71 years, and his death was tough on his family and the Gilmore girls cast who had grown to love him. He died from brain cancer.

Corey Monteith[GLEE]

 Corey Monteith died aged 31 years. He was found dead in his Vancouver, Canada, hotel room on July 13, 2013; it was only one day to his check out. Authorities on the scene stated that the actor died from a lethal drug overdose of heroin and alcohol. He was struggling with addiction problems; he had even been t rehabilitation centers.

Mental illness, also called mental health disorders, refers to a wide range of mental health conditions  disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior.

Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behavior

There’s an unfortunate stigma surrounding mental health that still keeps many people from talking about their own, especially in public.

Though it’s easy to think of the world’s biggest stars as having it all, the truth is that mental illness can affect celebrities and any person in general.

As it turns out, a lifestyle of money and fame does not automatically shield one from mental illness.

Facing enormous pressure to appear perfect, public figures once kept their struggles with mental health private, but this tendency has changed dramatically in the 21st century. 

Today, actors, musicians, political figures, and even royalty have opened up about their battles with mood disorders, personality disorders, substance abuse, and grief. 

Below are celebrities who have opened up about battling depression .

1. Demi Lovato

A longtime advocate for mental health, pop star Demi Lovato has always been open about her struggles with depression and bipolar disorder as well as with substance abuse.

Since the age of 7, singer Demi Lovato has dealt with suicidal thoughts and depression.

On September 10, 2020, World Suicide Prevention Day, the pop star took to Twitter to share her history of mental illness with her fans. She assured them that “it is possible to see the light when you start the work on yourself.”

2. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson

Dwayne Johnson  popularly known as “The Rock” has opened up about his mental health issues.

“I found that, with depression, one of the most important things you could realize is that you’re not alone,” he said in a YouTube video.

 “You’re not the first to go through it; you’re not going to be the last to go through it.

And oftentimes it happens you just feel like you’re alone. You feel like it’s only you. You’re in your bubble.

And I wish I had someone at that time who could just pull me aside and [say], ‘Hey, it’s gonna be OK. It’ll be OK.’ So, I wish I knew that.”

3. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga established her Born This Way Foundation a nonprofit to help disenfranchised teens.

“When my career took off, I don’t remember anything at all. It’s like I’m traumatized. I needed time to recalibrate my soul.

“I’ve suffered through depression and anxiety my entire life, I still suffer with it every single day,” she said in a 2015 Billboard interview.

I definitely look after my well-being…I openly admit to having battled depression and anxiety and I think a lot of people do. I think it’s better when we all say: ‘Cheers!’ and ‘fess up to it.'”

4. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber shocked many his fans when he took to Instagram to detail the struggles he faced after he shot to fame as a 13-year-old.

In a social media post, the singer described how he began to believe the non-stop praise he received from the public, which led him to develop a sense of entitlement.

He explained that he lacked a sense of personal responsibility for his behavior and “abused” his relationships.

“I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry,” he wrote. “It also led me to become distant to everyone who loved me… I felt like I could never turn it around.”

Bieber has described how his religious faith and the support of his loved ones helped him turn his life around. 

5. Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has been open about her mental health struggles. In an interview she revealed that she officially diagnosed with both anxiety and depression and getting the right treatment has been life-changing.

“I found out I do suffer from mental health issues. And, honestly, that was such a relief,” she explained.

I realized that there was a way to get help and to find people that you trust. I got on the right medication, and my life has been completely changed.”

6. Kanye West

Rapper, producer, and fashion designer Kanye West’s mental health problems have been public for years.

West has been open about receiving a diagnosis of bipolar disorder, a condition characterized by periods of mania and depression.

Recently, Ye opened up about his struggles with bipolar disorder, coming to terms with his divorce from social media icon Kim Kardashian, and struggling with suicidal thoughts, in his new documentary.

Kanye explained why it’s important for him to take his meds regularly. “If you don’t take medication every day to keep you at a certain state, you have a potential to ramp up.

7. Taraji p .Henson

Having suffered from anxiety and depression, Golden Globe-winner Taraji P. Henson has not only been vocal about her psychological problems but also about destigmatizing mental illness in the Black community.

Prayer, meditation, and therapy help Henson manage her depression and anxiety. 

8. Nicki Minaj

Working hard for a dream can be utterly exhausting, and perhaps no one knows that better than Nicki Minaj.

She may be regarded as one of the best rappers alive today, but in 2011, she shared with Cosmopolitan that she became so depressed while trying to break into the industry that she had suicidal thoughts.

“It was just one dead end after another,” Nicki said of contemplating suicide. “At one point, I was, like, ‘What would happen if I just didn’t wake up?’ That’s how I felt. Like, ‘Maybe I should just take my life?’”
