Rapper Young Dolph shot, killed

Rapper Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., better known by his stage name Young Dolph, was shot and killed in Memphis on Wednesday, according to police.

Davis added, “This shooting is another example of the senseless gun violence we are experiencing locally and nationwide. Our hearts go out to the Thornton family and all who have affected this horrific act of violence.”

Officials said no information about a suspect is available.

The 36-year-old rapper, who is from Memphis, released a successful, independently produced debut album, King of Memphis, in 2016.

Young Dolph was the victim of multiple shootings in recent years. In 2017, more than 100 shots were fired at his bulletproof SUV in Charlotte, N.C. He managed to walk away unharmed and later released a song about the incident called, “100 Shots.”

“A hundred shots, a hundred shots. How the f*** you miss a whole hundred shots?” he raps in the song.

That same year, he was involved in another shooting outside of a hotel in Los Angeles.

At the time, LAPD officials said  that the shooting occurred after an argument with three men, “which escalated to a physical fight. At one point, Young Dolph was knocked to the ground. And then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him.”

Young Dolph escaped from the scene, running to a nearby store. He was later taken to a hospital and underwent surgery.

Officials in Los Angeles told NPR that the investigation is ongoing.

On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta conferred city status on Nakuru town making it Kenya’s fourth city after Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kisumu.

The award of the city charter to Nakuru, at a colourful event followed a legislative process as outlined in the Urban Areas and Cities Act of 2011.

President challenged Nakuru City residents to take advantage of the opportunities that will be brought by the new status to improve their wellbeing.

He noted that Nakuru’s elevation was a demonstration of the success of devolution and the collaboration between national and county governments.

 President Kenyatta warned political leaders against pursuing selfish personal interests at the expense of Kenya’s peace and cohesion.

President Kenyatta requested the youth not to be blindfolded into supporting the political ambitions of individuals known for advancing divisive politics.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui thanked President Kenyatta for initiating several road infrastructure projects in the County

He praised the Nakuru County Government under Governor Lee Kinyanjui for expanding the city’s infrastructure.

22-year-old female terror suspect makes shocking revelations about Alshababb after being arrested

According to a police, OB report number 27/30/11/2021 filed at Songhor police station in Tindiret sub-county.

The 22-year-old Sheril Vugusta Lodenyo was arrested at Kamalambu village in Songhor ward following a tip-off from members of the public.

Sheril, who hails from Chavakali in Vihiga county, told the police that indeed she had links with the Al Shabaab group who she says kidnapped her in 2019 and trained her on conducting their illegal operations.

The suspect was taken to Kapsabet police station for detention before being moved to Eldoret where the Anti Terror Police Unit (ATPU) will pick her from for further processing.

The suspect, who was cohabiting with her boyfriend, is said to have later escaped from the death-dealing terror group after which she retreated to her rural home in Vihiga before moving in with her boyfriend in the Nandi village.

Exciting times for teachers as TSC launches digital leave application system

On Wednesday, December 1, 2021 The Teachers Service Commission automated its leave application and approval process.

Teachers can now apply for leave and have their applications approved online.

“Our leave application and approval process is now automated. You can apply on this link https://hrmis.tsc.go.ke/tm-app/apply_leave,” the commission announced.

TSC employed teachers are entitled to a 42 days annual leave, often taken during school holidays.

Female teachers are entitled to 90 calendar days of maternity leave from the date of confinement as their male counterparts get a 10 day leave within the period of their spouse’s maternity leave.

Teachers are also allowed a maximum of 15 days compassionate leave to attend to bereavement, sickness, or hospitalization of dependents.
