Safaricom is in ‘Preliminary Negotiations’ to Bring M-Pesa to Ethiopia

Safaricom’s parent company Vodafone UK will license the M-Pesa brand to an Ethiopian bank, while Safaricom will host servers in Nairobi.

Rapid infrastructure development followed, and so far Ethiopian suppliers have reached one-third of Kenya’s network coverage in less than two years after starting the business.
