Pastor Ezekiel is now a household name and still trending in Kenya. The pastor is famed because of his preaching and his great healing miracles, especially through the blessed water and handkerchief package. He also helps in the restoration of people’s star of luck.
Although he has been trending for his divine teachings the pastor is now facing backlash and even in police custody. On claims that he was involved in the murders of several of his congregants. And is associated with the killer pastor Mackenzie. Who encouraged his followers to fast until they were able to reach the Kingdom of God. And they died and were buried on his Shakahola farm.
Ezekiel has denied his association with pastor Mackenzie and has hired two famed lawyers Cliff Ombeta and Danstan Omora to defend him.
But who is pastor Ezekiel?
Pastor Ezekiel Odero was born on 13th August 1981 in Ngodhe Island (Rusinga), Suba North Sub County, Homa Bay County in the former Nyanza Province. To a Fisherman dad and a small-scale farmer mum. His grandfather Daniel Odero was a former Kenya Wildlife Service warden.
He has attended two primary schools and did KCPE twice.
Pastor Ezekiel attended Ngodhe Island Primary School (near Rusinga) and he did his KCPE in 1994 and scored 210 marks out of a total of 700. This low performance was attributed to his venturing into fishing with boys his age in the village.
He was forced to go back to primary school by his maternal grandfather from Seme Subcounty Kisumu county where he was admitted to class seven. in Lieye primary school. In 1996 he sat for KCPE where he scored 398 marks.
Pastor Ezekiel was admitted to Miwani Highschool in the Muhoroni sub-county in 1997. He did the exams for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2000 and scored a C plain.
The renowned pastor joined Mombasa Polytechnic now known as the Technical University of Mombasa in 2005 where he was pursuing a diploma in chemical processing technology. But he later dropped out in 2006 due to a lack of school fees.
Ezekiel met his wife pastor Sarah in 2006. They got married in 2007 after a brief courtship.
How he began his ministry
Pastor Ezekiel always had a passion to serve the lord. He began by being an ardent CU member and also serving in the Seventh Adventist Church in Seme. It’s in the church that he learned how to play the Keyboard and being a choir teacher.
After secondary school, Ezekiel joined Pastor Pius Muiru’s church Maximum Miracle Centre where he became a member. Ezekiel considers Pastor Muiru as his spiritual father
Odd job pastor Ezekiel has done
He and his wife Sarah have hawked goods at Kongowea market in Mombasa to earn a living.
He played the keyboard and was a choir teacher in church and that earned him a stipend.
The growth of pastor Ezekiel’s church began 15 years ago when he and his wife were just preaching in a field. He bought a small parcel of land a build a church after his congregation grew.
Luck was on his side as 15 years later pastor Ezekiel bought a bigger piece of land 65 acres to accommodate his huge congregation and worshippers. The land is in Mavueni Kilifi County.
He has built a church on the land that occupies almost 6 and a half acres of land and a church capacity of 45000 people. The largest church in the country.
He has a four-story building that is meant to accommodate 64 families. It’s fully packed with bedsitters and two-bedroomed units for his employees.
The pastor has an International school that officially opened this year.
Pastor Ezekiel is also a renowned entrepreneur as he owns a supermarket, petrol station, a TV Station, a mega poultry project a restaurant and will also be a proud owner of two hotels and guest rooms that are still under construction.
He is into matters of Education and has bought a piece of land he wants to set up a university which he believes will be running in 5 years.
He is a selfless person
He donated kes 6.6 million to needy students in Kilifi County to be able to join Highschool.
Ezekiel together with his wife has adopted a number of needy children from Kilifi county and outside. where they sponsor and take care of them.
